The third weekend of July sees the annualVermont 100 mile Ride and Run; a horse and ultra-marathon race that weaves itway around West Windsor, Woodstock, Pomfret, Reading and Brownsville. The raceproceeds benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. This year was the 24^thAnnual Ride and Run with 290-100 mile runners starting the race at 4 AM onSaturday morning. This year also saw the inaugural 100K race with 35 runnersmaking the 8 AM race start. The horse race consists of a 100, a 75 and a50-mile endurance ride. Race organizers have lots planned for the 25^thanniversary next July including a T-shirt design contest that could land thewinner a free race registration.
